Our Activities in 2010:
We have identified two key avenues of community involvement this year. Members are encouraged to participate
in one or both.
Political Action
Focus on organized support for Republican candidates (general election) and ballot initiatives (i.e. Arizona Healthcare Freedom), and/or voter registration
Outreach
We are in the process of selecting committee heads who will spearhead a Caring for America project, and involve members in political activities. Last year we prepared care packages which were mailed to a platoon of Arizona military women serving in Iraq. There is high interest amongst the membership to take on a similar project this year. In terms of political activities, we are being deluged with speaker requests for the CD3 race, gubernatorial race (some have requested to speak on behalf of both races!), Corporation Commission, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and local legislative races (since our members come from a number of different legislative districts). In addition, it has been suggested that the Club take on an initiative process, such as the Arizonans for Health Care Freedom Initiative.
Ongoing Activities:
Providing books and school supplies to Alfredo Garcia Elementary School
Taking magazines to Florence Crittenton residents
Making donations to St. Mary’s Food Bank
Supporting TARS (Teenage Republicans)
Supporting AzFRW and NFRW scholarship programs
Participating in various Caring for America projects
